RECIPE - Old Fashioned Baking Powder Biscuits


Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup butter
2/3 cup milk (+ 1 tbsp)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 450F.
Cut dry ingredients and butter together, then pour milk in.
Mix with a fork, but use clean hands to make sure that all dry ingredients get mixed in.
Put onto a floured board and knead lightly 4 or 5 times.
Pat dough into a square.
Fold in half to make a rectangle, the fold again in half.
Pat gently down into a square.
Cut into biscuits and place on ungreased pan.
Bake for 12-15 minutes.
Makes about a dozen biscuits.
