RECIPE - Blooming Onion Bread




Blooming Onion Bread

Ingredients:
1 unsliced loaf  of sourdough bread (preferably round)
1 pound Monterey Jack cheese, sliced thin
1/2 cup melted butter
1/2 cup diced green onion, (greens included)
2-3 tsp poppy seeds (optional)


Directions:

Cut the bread in both directions, creating a checkerboard like layer. 
Avoid cutting through the bottom crust.

Place cut loaf on a foil-lined baking sheet, be sure foil is large enough to wrap the bread. 
Places sliced cheese between bread cuts. 

Combine butter, onion, and poppy seeds. 
Drizzle over the bread, covering every bit. 

Wrap the finished bread in foil. 
Bake at 350 F for 15 minutes. 

Unwrap. 
 Bake 10 more minutes, or until cheese is melted.
